Get out the Beach Towels and Bikinis

Boy it's been warm... Ok, maybe not warm enough to get out to the beach but warm enough to melt a lot of snow. Last year our winter melt took place in January and I believe we saw double digits. Not so this time around but it's been in the pluses for a few days now. Unfortunately that will change come later today.

Wouldn't a big thaw be nice though. April Fool's at the beach. One can dream can't they?

Wii Fit Parody

Got to check this vid out. It's hilarious. If you own the Wii Fit it's even funnier. That is all.

Gas Prices Rediculous

Why is the price of gas rising when the price of oil has been fairly stagnant in the last couple weeks moving up and down a few dollars and the current supply of refined gas climbing?

It's all greed and it's getting out of control.

As for heating oil, let's not even go there with prices not correlating to the last few years whatsoever. They went down to a low of 79.7 this year and then about the beginning of January started climbing again.

GREED!

Who Ordered the Cold with a side of Freezing

One day, it's cold then it's Hell Froze over. Minus 32 right now. It's nuts out there. We need a bunch of electric heaters on the buildings in town to keep us all warm outside.

As a side note, it's National Weatherman Day

Hulu Hoop

They really need to get Hulu working in Canada and not blocked. Have you visited the site? You can watch most tv shows from the Simpsons to the Office and beyond but since you can't access the content from anywhere but the States many people are flocking to VPN services to access the content. Get it working for Canada already so I can watch tv galore!

A US President Admits He's Wrong

How often do you see that headline? Not too often but it has already come from new US President Barrack Obama. Pretty impressive that he has owned up to a mistake.

Obama Story

And the "Quote of the Year" award goes to Kelly Clarkson

Kelly recently commented to AOL's PopEater that she wasn't a Lesbian despite rumors to the contrary. But part of her quote used in the article just didn't come out the way it probably should have:

"People are like, 'Are you secretly a lesbian? Because I'd really love it.' Lesbians tell it to me all the time. I'm like, 'I'm glad it works for you and I wish I liked women like that because oftentimes men are very hard for me, but I happen to like boys.'" Clarkson added, "I would never want to date [someone like] myself, ever. I'm a crazy person."

Probably could have been worded differently Kelly

Dark Knight

Great Movie so far.

I watched the first half yesterday and plan to catch the rest today.

The movie is not as dark as previous Batman movies which made it hard for me to enjoy it.

I just don't like the fact that Harvey Dent will become Two-Face. I like his character as a good guy.

Locked Myself Out

So I locked myself out of my car last night. It's a yearly thing. I'm good till 2010. But when I talked about it this morning I got callers talking about their own incidents. It's cool to see, especially at 6:15 in the morning when it's pretty quiet in here. I love how people will call in on the things you sometimes think will get the least response from listeners.

Beef Stroganoff Anyone?

I've never been a big fan of Hamburger Helper but if it satisfies my wife's need for beef stroganoff(the flavor we're having tonight) then it saves me the trouble of making the real thing.

I highly recommend Betty Crocker make other Hamburger Helper flavors to satisfy her tastes without having to spend a pile of cash to make it.(1.99 is good for me)
  1. Chocolate Hamburger Helper
  2. Porkrind Hamburger Helper
  3. Fish Hamburger Helper(preferably with a Salmon theme)

How about you? What Hamburger Helper flavors would make your life easier?

The Boss is no Guitar Hero but He's Cool With Me

So I own Guitar Hero: World Tour and yesterday they released 2 songs for the game from Bruce Springsteen. An old classic Born To Run and one from his new album which came out yesterday as well My Lucky Day. Both are rocking songs on the game and are free until the 4th of next month if you have Guitar Hero. All you have to do is go online and download them. I recommend putting them on an SD card, otherwise they'll take up too much room on your limited system memory.

Wish they put Rascal Flatts and Brad Paisley's tracks out there for free. Those cost 200 Wii points and I spent the last of my Wii Points lately on the 3 Orginal Super Mario titles. Those are fun too!

If you're a fan of the Bruce's don't miss his performance at the half time show this weekend during the Superbowl.

The Foot Doctor Told Me To Go Fit with the Wii Fit

Ok so he didn't quite say that.

I saw the foot doctor in town yesterday, Doctor Fergusson. Unfortunately I've been going through shoes like crazy. It seems my legs are little out of wack and I'm putting pressure on the outside of my foot causing the shoes to break.

  1. First of course, weight loss is important(That's coming along and I knew that would be part of the fix).
  2. Second, I was told to get shoes that have a wider base and flared sides to help support my feet.
  3. Third, he checked my hamstrings and muscles and said they were really tense and the only way to get my legs straigthened out was to work out and get them stretching again. He mentioned the pool which I already started going to. He also mentioned Tai-Chi or Yoga. I mentioned that I have a Wii and was planning on getting the Wii Fit which has Yoga. Right away he mentioned seeing that and said that was definetly an option if I could get motivated enough for it. Either that or take Yoga classes in an organized fashion.

I think I'll stick to the Wii recommendation.

Tina Fey May have at least 4 more years of work

Yesterday I talked about Sarah Palin possibly running for President in 2012. Does that mean Tina Fey may have 4 more years of work ahead of her?

6.5 days and Counting

Many kids got another day off of school because of crummy weather today. Just for the fun of it, we've been keeping track of the days buses aren't running and right now we're at 6.5 days.(The half day comes in when kids were sent home after a few hours at school)

I believe last year there were more bus cancellations by this time then this year but the weather seems worse this year.

President Sarah?

You know if Perez says it, then it's true.

Link to Story

Check out www.sarahpac.com

Could it be the start of her campaign for the 2011 presidency? I certainly hope not. Personally would rather see her continue her watch over the Russian homeland from her side of the pond.

Global Warming: A Scam?

"A recent poll found that 80% of Canadians believed that Global Warming had been scientifically proven."

I would love to know who they other 20% are. The number one thing I hear from people that don't believe in it say look at all the snow coming down. Milder weather tends to mean more snow.

As for cold weather, it's still going to happen, just less and less frequently. Right now we're still in the early stages of Global Warming but it's getting progressively worse.

Tongue Hockey in Canada?

"A recent poll found 12% of Canadians have made love with Hockey Night in Canada in the background."

Really? I thought Canadians loved their hockey, now I find out they just love to get it on while Grapes and Maclean chat it up. Big turn on huh? I guess intermissions are useful for more than just a commercial break but I think they might have to lenthen them unless Hockey Night in Canada = Quicky!

Just To Keep You Updated

Just a blog to share my life and what I come across.
